You’d be surprised how many SEO experts out there don’t understand the concept of canonicalization. I know that from having talked to at least 100 SEO pros. Canonicalization is something worth knowing about…even if just to test your SEO company to find out if they know what they’re talking about. Anyhow, have  a look. If you have questions or comments let me know.

Two Killer Keyword and Niche Research Tools (video)

Hey guys,
I know, I said the next post was going to be “How to create a membership site (part 2).” I want to get to that post but I have been really slammed with a lot of copywriting and consulting gigs lately. I’ll try and do membership sites part 2 as soon …

I’ll get …

How to use offline tactics to build your online business

Browsing online forums I am continually reminded that there are many people who believe the internet is the be-all-end-all medium for their business.
That may be the case for them. I suspect that kind of thinking is also at least partially responsible for the large numbers of people not making any money online either.
Sometimes you have to suck it up and get away from the computer. Get outside and promote yourself and your products.
This can be uncomfortable. I remember my first attempts at selling and marketing my own products over the …

I am going to be honest, pay per click advertising(PPC) can be downright frustrating. It seems like most times I use PPC I end up getting killed. The reason I am thinking this way at the moment because this was a particularly expensive week for me using PPC to no avail.
The late Gary Halbert, copywriter and direct marketing maven was once quoted as saying something to the effect of “whatever business you think you are in you’re wrong. You are in the business of arithmetic.” And of course, after thinking …

About a month or so ago I thought I would conduct an experiment to see if the directory submission service offered by WLMarketing would improve my page rank, traffic, or backlinks.
First of all, If you think I am going to give you a phony review with an affiliate link to WLMarketing you’re wrong. I’ll be honest, I would if I thought the service was of any real value but at this point I feel the $105 dollars I spent was a waste of money.
I signed up for the following …

Okay, you might not be surprised to read news on this site about the Yahoo/Microsoft search partnership. You may not be surprised to find me talking about the Rorschach Test on this site either. After all, personality and emotional response are definitely interesting to marketers. But what about the Cash for Clunkers program of government subsidies on trade-ins of older vehicles?
I’ll let you in on a little secret, something I have been experimenting with on some of my sites lately. A while back I was writing about a current news article. …
