A lot of the questions in forums surround list building. Many people, myself included don’t always want to wait for names to dribble onto our lists. If you have a product and want to start selling it immediately renting the right mailing lists from a broker can help.
Like any media buy lists can either cost you a lot or make you  a lot. If you’re considering renting a list of names make sure to ask your list broker the following questions. Nothing will guarantee your success but these questions will …

Overwhelmed with information? Do you make this mistake with your marketing?

Information - can’t live with it, can’t live without it.
An interesting book came out a few years back by a guy named Andrew Keen called the Cult of the Amateur “How Today’s Internet is Killing Our Culture.” While I didn’t agree with everything in Keen’s biting critique of what he considered the “Cult of the Amateur,” I found the book thought provoking.
Ever read forums? I sometimes read marketing and copywriting related forums. Often I can see Keen’s ideas played out -  amateurs distributing information second or third hand without stopping …

10 Ways to Get Greater Response from Your Website

This is a question I have been hearing a lot lately. How can I get more people to respond to my website? This is a good question and one I’m sure I’ll keep hearing until the internet goes away or I croak.
Much of it depends on the website. Take this site for instance. It’s like pulling teeth to get any of you readers to do anything. Why am I saying that? I’ll tell you.
About three or four posts ago I had a challenge (which is still open here) where I …

5 Ways to Beat Down Writer’s Block

I was someone who struggled with math growing-up. I liked math and wanted to do well  but had horrible test anxiety. My college math experience was so bad. One day I went to my instructor and plead with him to pass me through my final math class.
I had already taken the class and dropped it two or three times.  I was doing okay on the homework but I was bombing the tests. Much to my terror my pleading didn’t work. My instructor told me the worst thing possible. “Hmm…Well…let’s say …

Why not start a membership site?

Membership sites can be a great way to earn recurring income each month. Nearly everyone has something they can teach that people are interested in. But, even if you don’t have something you feel comfortable teaching you can always find something you want to learn,  hire someone to teach you and then record the process with audio and video and turn it into content for your site.
We have four magazine subscriptions. Half the time I don’t even look at them. I find myself going online  because the content is more …

If you are going to be an entrepreneur or solopreneur you’ve got to be a leader.  You are captain at the helm and unless you steer your ship nobody will steer it for you.
I see people buying course after course, waiting for one of those courses to have some magic formula that propels them toward instant success. It just doesn’t work that way, and the more I have thought about why people fail in their businesses or fail to make the most from courses they buy the more I think …

David Ogilvy on How to Create Advertising that Sells

By David Ogilvy
Ogilvy & Mather has created over $1,480,000,000 worth of advertising. Here, with all the dogmatism of brevity are 38 of the things we have learned.
1.  The most important decision. We have learned that the effect of your advertising on your sales depends more on this decision than on any other: how should you position your product? Should you position Schweppes as a soft drink – or as a mixer?  Should you position Dove as a product for dry skin or as a product which gets hands …

Most people who pay $500 per month for a membership program have the same questions. Even if you make good money you don’t what to give it away for nothing. So, what would make a membership program worth $500 per month?
I signed up for Armand Morin’s AM2.0 program a couple of months back. I’ll be honest, the only reason I joined was because I thought I would get a free ticket to his “Big Seminar” in Vegas over the 6th,7th, and 8th of November.  I figured I would sign up …

That was a headline from a Yahoo News article today. The article went on to list various careers and the impact that going to a top school would have on the wages of workers in those careers.
Undoubtedly going to a top school will open more doors and provide more opportunities for higher earning.  As the saying goes, “birds of a feather flock together.” That’s not to say that you can’t earn a decent living going to an average school.
What I found most interesting about the report however was it’s reinforcement …
