Awesome Firefox Plugin Video Mini Tutorial
If you are doing any kind of development or playing around with the look of your sites the Firefox Web Developer Addon is a must have and here’s why…
Have you ever seen a site with a cool looking background image and wanted to make it your own? With the Web Developer Addon one of the features is the ability to view all of the images in a document neatly displayed in rows with the paths to their location. So, it’s easy to find that background image drag it off to your desktop, and use it on your site.
Here’s another great use for the Firefox Web Developer Addon. Say you have a Wordpress Theme you are modifying. You find the area you want to change but don’t know the ID or class of the object to change. With the Addon you simply select “information>display element information” and a red outline will surround the area when you move over it with your cursor.
These descriptions might not make a lot of sense if you are just starting out and don’t know what an ID or class is. Just watch the video below and you’ll begin to get an idea of just how valuable this addon is.
The Firefox Web Developer Addon is free for now. But if you enjoy the great features of this plugin you can donate $10 or $20 to the Addon’s developer Chris Pederick.
Stay tuned, this is video #2 in the Wordpress series. In the next episode, I’ll give you an overview of CSS and customizing your Wordpress installation.
