Climbing a mountain one hour at a time

011_large
I have climbed a mountain or two and yet the most difficult mountain to climb has been the mountain of entrepreneurial success. There is no set pathway or trail, the climb is long and steep, many times we are surrounded by people we need to carry or pull up the mountain, we are in charge of planning, logistics, mapping, charting, organizing the expedition, operational details and execution.

All these tasks can seem incredibly daunting…especially if you are doing all this in the scarce hours between the time you leave work and the time you go to bed. Do not worry, stay the course and you will succeed. My strategy for climbing this mountain was to devote one full uninterrupted hour per day to the mission.

Okay, you may have heard the biblical saying that you can move mountains with the faith of a mustard seed. Well…maybe you can. I don’t know. For me, every mountain I have ever moved (or climbed) hasn’t been through faith, it has been done through action. And…let me tell you…it doesn’t take much. I promise you, that if you dedicate one solid uninterrupted hour per day to working toward your dreams or accomplishing whatever it is you want to accomplish, you won’t be disappointed.

You absolutely have to do this. When I say uninterrupted that is exactly what I mean. That means no distractions, no family, no friends, no co-workers, no email checking, no phone calls that are unrelated to the task you are trying to accomplish. No f—ing around this is business time.

Here’s how I climb a mountain one hour at a time.

Hour 1. Create my gameplan. Define my mountain and choose my route to the top.

Hour 2. Create my strategic objectives. This is the big picture plan.

Hour 3. Write out my tactical plans. These are the operational details of exactly how you will accomplish your strategic objectives.

Hour 4. Begin accomplishing tactical objective one

Remaining hours…simply go through the items on your list of tactical plans and complete them. Never, ever get down on yourself. This time is not about philosophy, this time is about action. If you can’t complete a task that meets your objective in that hour move on to the next one, complete as many as you can. If people around you doubt you or ask questions simply tell them you are working on something and will let them know when you are finished. Don’t explain things.

You get the idea - I hope. This is critical stuff get with the program or else.

Once you are ready to dedicate an hour a day to something to help you get ahead I suggest you check out Online Profit Matrix a killer step-by-step money making course you can get for only $1. If not, no problem…keep reading my blog for valuable tips and inspiration.
